What are your thoughts on the first female ring announcer in the UFC?

Constantly mentioning how some diversity person is the "first" to do it just trivilizes them doing their job. Whether it's true or not, just makes it seem like they were given the job because of their diversity and not because they warranted it when you constantly tag their none performance and skill related traits.

Especially in a case like this where from my understanding she only stepped in because Joe Martinez had a medical emergency mid card and they needed someone to do it. She was thrust into the role last second and stepped up to the plate.

THAT'S the story. Not that she also happens to be a woman. What she did was admirable. What gender she is is trivial.

Just literally never bring that up.

Great job snagging a job interview photo. 9/10 no doubt wooooood, congrats to her.

I don't know who cares that much about an announcer anymore though. Lenne Hardt was unique, but I have a feeling this will just be another job lost to AI when some Johnny 5 looking robot is announcer, ref, and fight judge in the near future.

Obviously it's because the people who do the diversity hire don't care, they just want to sell to people that do. They couldn't give half a shit about trivialising a woman's achievement.

Dude was filmed slapping his wife twice right when that dumb ass power slap organization was opening. He'll have to be caught murdering someone in order for him to go.
Don king got to murder 2 ppl and he still promoted. Face it Dana will do this Job until he dies. All this time all these yrs and him having a spat w his wife is all they got on him. It took 40 yrs to get anything on Vinny Mac to stick. Dana ain't never goin nowhere

She literally got the job mid-card because the actual announcer had a medical emergency and she agreed to step up to the plate to keep the show going. That's admirable.

You're the one bringing the fact that she's a woman into it.

She is in fact a woman. Obama was the first black president. DDP is the first South African UFC champ. Zhang is the first Chinese UFC champ.
Getting offended by this is just as cringe as the people who blow it out of proportion.

Exactly.

Can't compare a party, sports and a gang bang.

You want the right people in the right place. People that seemed perfect in one role may feel very misplaced in another role.

Preference:
Party = All chicks

Sports = All dudes

Gang bang = ? (No Homer)

LMAO hey hey in the GB homers dont exist ;)

Not everyone has personality.

Most don't.

Also, the ceremonial traditions of gladiatorial combat should never be discarded.
The announcer mid ring yelling while guys go cold needs to go. It won't but it should.

They should get Ronda to announce some fights just to really stick it to the haters.

Haven't seen anyone talking about this. Her name is Charly Arnolt.
